Well, I was planning on writing about the mild winter we are experiencing. Mild temperatures, clear skies…it had been delightful. Winter showed up this week, in a really big way. We had a great old fashion winter storm blow through. School was closed, roads needed to be plowed, sleds and skies came out of storage…and it managed to get our minds of the nightly news. Between hot chocolate and library books I managed to tuck away our Christmas decor and bring out some wintery things to reflect this quiet, more introspective time on the calendar. The goal was cozy and simple, hygge if you will. I must admit it can be a bit addictive, I’m not a huge fan of snow but I’ve enjoyed my cozy socks and warm throw by the fire…and a few days off from work is always nice. My ears are very in tuned to the weather report…

Thank you. We are getting ready for a weekend storm, time to break out the hot chocolate and turn on the fireplace!

We on the other hand have had a white Christmas and New Year and more snow than I have seen in our 25 years in Vancouver. Now we’re in for a rainy and wet couple of weeks as per the forecast. We will see what happens.

We were having mild winter too and then it hit with a bang! Snow, ice, freezing cold temps… I’m not a fan but I do try to make the best of it and enjoy quiet, slow days at home.

I usually grow tired of the winter weather by mid February. Still hoping for one more good storm.

The weather can be so crazy. We were expecting snow today, not a single flake fell. It is going to be in the 50’s tomorrow.
