Restful Christmas

It was one of those holiday weeks, one where you realize you haven’t been still in days. Holiday fun is great and I look forward to it every year, but I still need my quiet Christmas time. One reason I decorate our master bedroom is the opportunity to relax among some understated beauty…well, also in the past it kept those truly breakable items away from a toddling Princess. I love to see my vintage Santas and mercury glass antique ornaments each morning. Add some greenery and it is all set!

Simple greens in enamel teapots.
Lovely Santas
Vintage mercury glass ornaments.
Enamel salt box dressed for the season
Seasonal touches on the bed.
When we walk downtown you never know who you will meet!

  2. Yes! I have had vintage items broken by curious little boys. Live and learn.

May you have a restful Christmas.

  3. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you, Amy! Isn’t it nice now that your daughter is a little older and you CAN put out all the breakable things and not worry about that as much?!! I know our kids when they were young were really happy to help put out all the Christmas things as they got older. My Amy was my tree lighting expert (I really don’t like putting them on; it’s a texture thing on my hands messing with the branches…) and she loved decorating the tree! Peter would climb up on our roof and put up lights outside. He still does that at his own home for his family! 🙂

This year our kids came and we had an early Christmas the Sunday before and I shared that actually for this morning on my blog. We had a lovely time! Oh and before I forget, I was able to feature your home at this week’s Share Your Style #330 for you. ❤

Hope your Christmas was wonderful and that you have a great 2022,
    Many hugs,
    Barb 🙂
