We rounded out our Maine trip with a visit to Bar Harbor. Hands down, Acadia is one of the most beautiful places. Before we arrived I feared large and noisy crowds pushing out our enjoyment of the national park experience, and there may have been a moment of two during the day that we had to reorganize plans, but the days spent in the park were mostly peaceful, relaxing and rejuvenating. The Princess enjoyed some family friendly hikes, complete with a snake sighting, and we all enjoyed the beautiful views from Cadillac Mountain. We could not get reservations for the carriage ride through the park, but what we did see was more than enough for us.
Our Bed and Breakfast was located very close to downtown Bar Harbor and we were able to walk…and shop…to everything we needed. The restaurants were unique, the vibe was chill and the weather could not have been better.
Maine…we will be back!

I live in Maine and don’t get to Acadia very often! Everyone should go, eat seafood, breathe salty ocean air, and fall asleep with waves as a background. I’m only 100 miles away. Went years ago with a friend for a carriage ride with a driver who had worked with Meg Ryan on a film! Foliage season should be awesome!

You brought back great memories of my trip to Acadia five years ago. I need to go back to Bar Harbor and eat ice cream in the lobster chair.
