A Maine State of Mind Part 1

There is something about the coastal area of Maine that is good for the soul. It must be the combination of the cooler weather, picturesque harbors, the fantastic antique shopping and the great food. Somehow the stress just melts away and you find yourself experiencing the same simple, peaceful vacation you remember from your youth.

Our first stop was the Brunswick/Freeport area. We stayed in a quaint bed and breakfast right on the water. We shopped, enjoyed some great food and, of course, visited the giant L L Bean flagship store!

The Princess and I enjoyed the view from our Bed and Breakfast, Middle Bay Farm
Exploring the rocky coastline.
So many beautiful lighthouses like Pemaquid Lighthouse
The ice cream was divine at Pammy’s Ice Cream Parlor in Harpswell Center.
And of course, L L Bean!

  1. I’ve always wanted to visit Maine. We lived in CA forever and I knew I’d never make it a priority. But now we’re in Atlanta and it seems way more do-able. 🙂

    Great photos!!

  2. I moved to Maine from NH 33years ago when I remarried. The marriage didn’t last but my love for Maine has only grown! I need to go to the ocean to recenter myself. I am so glad you enjoyed yourselves. I still only get lobster 1-2x a year but get other seafood often. The pace of life can be the way life should be–of course, being retired now helps!

  3. Thank you for your review. I am glad to hear that Brunswick-Freeport was a good place for anyone to start. It’s always wonderful when you can help people find the perfect spot in Maine.

Next time when I am on holiday in the States, I will drop by Brunswick-Freeport for a visit.

    Cheers
