It has been a wild few weeks with the weather, I mean just look at Texas. The snow has been mind boggling. Maryland received its fair share of Arctic temperatures and ice showers, with a little snow thrown in for good measure. It was cozy in the house…and then it was too cozy in the house. We all needed to go back to work/school. It also made me really really anxious to start some planned renovations that were put on the back burner because of Covid delays. I love this 100 year old house. It has great bones. It’s just time to put those great bones to work.
This week left me wondering if spring could be just around the corner. The balmy 40 degree weather, birds attempting to build a nest in the door wreath, daffodils poking out of the earth seem to speak of this change and I must admit I’m ready for it. I always miss the beauty of a snow day mid week, but I think I’m done for the year…at least until next December! Enjoy some decor touches that seem to bridge winter into spring for me. No bunnies or heavy floral touches yet.

I love snowy weather! After living my first 40 years in ‘no-snow’ Australia, I love living in a country that has snow and ice in winter (first it was Russia, now I’m in Bulgaria). But, I’m ready for spring, too, and can’t wait for the warm evenings to begin.

I”m ready for spring, too! We didn’t get much snow here in Utah where I live so we’ll probably be in a drought during the summer. But I’m glad the cold will soon be gone!
Thanks so much for sharing this at our Party in Your PJs link party.

I am ready for spring too but know we probably have at least a few more snow flurries and storms before spring is here to stay.

We might as well make.the best of it, right? There is beauty even in the depths of a long winter.

Winter is in retreat, and the days are sunnier and brighter longer. I also associate pears with winter, maybe because of the partridge in a pear tree? I hope the longer days give you energy to accomplish your goals.

Winter is coming…as they say. At least for us. Just booked an autumn visit to the mountains. Let’s see if it will happen (we of the constant lockdowns…)

Spring is here! We start at around 35 degrees in the am and doubles by afternoon! Light layers that can be taken off and lots of time outside. One child quarantined for being a close contact to a sick child, hoping he is not sick, the next few days will let us know.
