Bend Not Break

The Princess’ first grade teacher has told us this experience will probably bend us so it does not break us. I’m really trying to keep this in mind as I am bent in ways I never imagined. I never imagined spring time without community egg hunts, large glorious Easter services, shopping for new springtime outfits and lovely visits with friends and family. None of these things are happening. But there is opportunity to shop online…or not at all, who’s going to see me?, to enter the new world of ZOOM meetings and worshiping from the comforts of my couch. Disappointing, yes…ideal, no…bending, probably but breaking, definitely not. How are you bending this week?

Oh and a little Princess has a birthday this weekend. 7! Can you believe it?

  1. Oh, my time flies….and, we are definitely bending here. It is barely spring here in Chicagoland, but everyone has been out in their yards, clearing brush, trimming, raking since being at home. I’ve skipped the Easter decor, and simply cleaned and simplified. Hugs to Princess, and may she have a Happy Birthday!

  3. Sounds like you’re actually doing pretty well — I home schooled my son from 4th-8th grade. You didn’t choose this — all you can do is your best. Go easy on yourself! Yes, our new normal is one we never dreamed of. But I do believe it’s working and that is good news:) Happy Easter to you and your family (can’t believe she’s 7!) Thanks for sharing at Vintage Charm. xo Kathleen

    1. We are slowly falling into a groove that is working. We all miss the social connection of normal lives…Zoom can only go so far but this will end in God’s timing. I know. 7!!

  4. I clicked on your bunny photo over at Waste Not Wednesday. I appreciate your thought… and yes, we will bend and not break, especially if we are leaning into the Lord! (Love your antique molds… I want to start collecting I think!)

  5. Trying to remember God is at work. He’s definitely bending each of us but He’ll never give us more than we can stand. Press in, press on, and God bless from RubyHemMinistries.com

  6. Yes…bending but not breaking. Happy birthday to your sweet daughter. I celebrated my birthday during quarantine as well though I am 50 years older than your daughter. I missed being with my children and my grandchildren.
