A little over a year ago we became a family of three…
Our hearts had waited a long time for our sweet girl to come home and we wanted to welcome her in style…on a budget of course. Shopping the house was my first step and many items that adorn her room used to adorn a totally different part of our house. Ebay and Flea market finds added the necessary shabby elements and I never miss an excuse to visit The Twisted Sisters in West Annapolis.
The Reading Nook
The Reading Nook is my favorite part of the room. The rocking chair was a thrift store find and the poodle blanket was my baby blanket, not an antique but definitely vintage. The rug was from a much earlier travel to China when I was still single. The antique baby gown was a lucky find buried in a box at flea market.

Good morning Amy! I’m so excited that you’ve joined our very first Thoughts of Home on Thursday. We are elated to have you.
Your daughter’s room is absolutely adorable. The pink is all so pretty and I love all the accessories. That window nook where the rocking chair is is just beautiful. I love that you used the vintage children’s book illustrations for art in the room. I’ve always loved that. When my sons were babies we had reproductions of old art and I loved the nostalgia. Pinning. 🙂

Would you believe I pulled some of these old illustrations from the trash! How can someone not appreciate the beauty. Thank you for your kind comment. My dream for s long time has been to be a mama with a little girl and I am enjoying (most) every minute…we gave a climber as well so I can’t say I enjoy pulling her off the bookcases and dining room table.

You have such a special touch for adding the past which is something to truly hold dear. To have your own baby blanket is such a treat! I love the kitchen set you found and framing the pages from an old book is such a fabulous idea!
