A Little Love From Yesteryear

Sorry for all the blog repeats…trust me you don’t want to see the state of my house right now. There has been great progress, electrical work is coming along some plumbing is in…but i am growing quite weary of my house looking and smelling like Home Depot. Prayers for patience.

It is truly shocking to realize it is already February. Christmas seems like yesterday…or months ago…I do know I am still finding the occasion pine needles in odd places. But February it is, on to the next holiday. Valentine’s Day always stumps me…is it a winter holiday or a nod to the upcoming spring with all the pastels and softness? I don’t know, but I do try to add a little Valentine essence to my decor…enjoy just a few touches!

And a Happy Chinese New Year to you! It is the year of the rat (or 3 years later the Rabbit)

  1. Wow, that has been a long time to be torn apart in a house. When we redid our kitchen it was about 2 1/2 weeks of living on the porch in summer. Hope it all goes the way you want it to, but then you are adding so much space! Love your reposts, TOO!

  2. Your kitchen is going to look great! Hang in there! I love the hearts made out of old quilts. They are so endearing. Valentine’s Day also stumps me – on whether it is a winter holiday or a spring holiday . . . maybe a little of both???

  3. This post really put me in the mood for Valentine’s day. Ove vintage, and especially enjoyed seeing the vintage Valentine’s Day cards in the shadow box. Happy V-Day.

  4. I enjoy seeing all of the rustic touches from yesteryear. Indeed, the more I live, the more I appreciate simple beauty, as opposed to the mass market over-produced trinkets. I don’t want my home to be a carbon copy of everyone else’s style. You seem to be able to put things together to create such a homey feel that I love.

Going to feature your post tomorrow.
