OK, tomorrow is the last day of September. So far this month, I have attended football games in shorts, picked apples in 90 degree heat and found pumpkin spice coffee far from appealing. Where are you, Fall? School has started, the leaves have a slight tingle of scarlet, you can buy pumpkins at farm stands along the road (you can also buy Christmas decor at Target, but I’ll leave that for a other times) and my boots stand ready to go. Summer, you had your day in the sun. I love you but it’s time to move on. I’m ready for sweater weather, chilly evenings with a fire, steamy cups of hot cider and crunchy leaves. I can see Fall peeking around the corner, but Fall needs to come out already…I don’t want to swelter in the pumpkin patch.
Homespun beauty in a vintage tobacco basket.
Ready to curl up with a good book on a crisp fall evening.
Waiting in the hallway to catch the glorious Fall light.
Dressed up and ready for Fall family fun.
Picking apples in the sweltering heat was still magical.

Ah, Amy! Here in Chicagoland we had 90’s last week, this week has been 70-80s or rain(4 days so far). Evenings are finally cooling off—yes, crazy year…and it was hot for a lot. We went from furnace to air-conditioning in a matter of a week. Love your Fall decor, especially your Leaf quilt, that is lovely!

I’m ready for the cool down too. It just doesn’t feel like fall yet. Have a great week.

The seasons do seem to be mixed up this year, but here in New England the mornings are starting to feel crisp and the leaves are responding with color!

We’re sweltering as usual down in the SC Lowcountry. But it was gorgeous on our trip to Chicago last week- 60s and low 70s are the magic numbers for fall clothes with no jacket! #littlecottagelinkparty

Amy, we are asking the same question here in Austin! It’s not unusual for September to be warm here, but we are more than warm. The heat has broken all records for highs in September here in Austin. Hottest September on record.
Fun to see your sweet family. The little princess is growing up! Happy Fall!

Oh my goodness I am right there with you! My heart is actually aching for the season I love so much. It feels so wrong to see fall color and pumpkins in 90 degree weather. It has been too hot for cider and I don’t even like going to the football games because it’s too hot and humid in the evenings! Hopefully fall temps will arrive soon and stay!
Beautiful fall decor! Thanks for sharing at All About Home!

Winter is not my favorite…a permanent Fall would be ideal.

I want fall to get here too!! It is too warm. But hopefully a cool front coming this weekend will bring more of an autumn mood.

You took the thoughts out of my head. I was thinking the same time yesterday as I was eyeing the fire logs at Home Depot and thinking, wait, it’s going to be 90 degrees outside this weekend!

Oh man, its been hot in the south too, but I am going to enjoy the warmth as long as possible. The cold just kills me. A happy medium of 87 degrees would be nice!

A permanent Fall would be so ideal. If only such a place existed.
