I never really know what to do with Valentine’s Day…I like red things but I’m not fond of pink (outside the Princess’s bedroom). I like sweets, but I don’t own any heart shaped baking dishes. I’m really uncomfortable with the thought of a small naked Cupid shooting me with an arrow…it just sounds creepy. But enter into the picture a cute little pre-K girl who adores pink and ruffles and loves her friends and teachers. A great deal of time was spent in the CVS card aisle selecting just the perfect set of cards to exchange at school…the stakes are pretty high, people! Maybe a little bit of Valentine seeped into me because I was suddenly inspired to create a Valentine mantel display…and yes, it has ruffles, pink and and cute cards..the Princess approved.
Vintage postcard always charm me…even the Cupids.
Vintage teacups inherited from two Grandmothers add a flowery touch.
Lacy doilies are frilly addition.
Antique bottles add sparkle.
Know what else is cute? This little Eagles fan!

Love your sweet Valentine’s mantle, a beautiful collection of treasures. The Princess is definitely the cutest Eagles fan ever! I’m hoping the Eagles soar to victory tonight, though I’m probably the only one here in New England. Thank-you for sharing.

Very cute! I’ve been trying to pull a valentine’s day mantle together too but found that I don’t really have any home decor items that are red or pink or heartsy or anything!

I had to think hard to locate the pink. Red I have but nothing was really Valentine enough. I liked how it turned out.
