A Reluctant Fall

I love Fall.  I love apple picking, tall boots, cozy sweaters and the smell of pumpkin spice.  What I don’t like is 90 degree weather in September.  It just does not feel right…and it just doesn’t feel right putting out my autumn wreath and glass blown pumpkins. My plan was to refuse to decorate for Fall until the weather cooperated and then I saw this…

…and I surrendered the battle.  Enjoy the beginning of Fall in our household…trust me there is more to come!

And the best way to enjoy a fall football tailgate when it is 90 degrees? Ice cream of course…with a cookie thrown in for good measure!

  1. The Princess is so beautiful and very adorable with enjoyment smeared all over her face! Don’t you just love these pumpkin spice Cheerios? I’ve already finished one box with a little help from my 2 1/2 yr. old Grandson. He loves his “cho-cho’s” and now loves these too. Fall is not coming soon enough for me either, even here in New England the temperatures are in the low 80’s. I don’t know how you survive 90’s, full blast A/C right? I wonder if this will delay the changing of the leaves to the vibrant shades of Autumn splendor I so love and wait for every year. I love all of your pumpkins on the stairs, good for you! I haven’t been motivated to get into the Fall decorating, maybe yours will nudge me to start. Thank-you for another lovely post and wonderful photos.

  2. It feels like Summer today but tomorrow it will feel more like Fall. Personally, I like the summer weather better but then we never get as warm as some of you down yonder. Our Summers and Falls are much too short here. Our winters are long and harsh. So, yes, I’m a spring and summer kind of gal. 😉
I love your basin filled with apples and those pumpkins squatting on the stairs. I am waiting a couple more weeks before I pull my pumpkins out.
Everyone likes ice cream and cookies and from the look on your little one’s face, she certainly is relishing each mouthful. Too cute! Thank you for sharing.

    Blessings,

    1. I love the fall but winter is an unpleasant thought. The weather will be turning cooler soon and we can enjoy the crisp temperature at the next game…and I can wear my boots and scarf.

  3. It is very hard to think about decorating when the weather is so warm yet. You are off to a great start! It won’t be too much longer before the ice cream will be replaced with hot coco. Thanks for sharing with us at Brag About It! Have a super week!

  4. Once Sept. arrives it is quite fall like here in UT. We will have our summer days mixed in, but the leaves start changing and the mornings and evening are cool. I enjoy my fall décor before pulling out the Halloween in Oct. I love your fun collection of pumpkins on the stairs! Thanks for sharing with SYC.

  5. I live in the Tampa Bay area and no it’s not getting much cooler and there are no colorful leaves. I believe seasons are a state of mind. I am going in the autumn mode looking forward to cooler temps in November and December. I HOPE!

  6. Oh I know what you mean, here where I live, in Spain, Fall weather won’t start until probably after Halloween, lol, so yeah. I can’t wait though, so I also decorated everything already. Your pumpkins on the stairs are so lovely and I wish I’d get pumpkin spiced cheerios here!

  7. Those are some really adorable fall touches; I finally caved into fall when I found the Pumpkin Spice frosted Mini Wheats! Those are my favorite. Pinned.
