…and enjoying the beauty of May Day in Annapolis. The competition is fierce as homes and businesses decorate doors and gates with the finest spring has to offer. Feast your eyes on some of my favorites from last year!
May Baskets

Let us take our baskets early
To the meadows green,
While the wild-flowers still are pearly
With the dewdrops’ sheen.
Fill them full of blossoms rosy,
Violets and gay
Cowslips, every pretty posy
Welcoming the May.
Then our lovely loads we’ll carry
Down the village street,
On each door, with laughter merry,
Hang a basket sweet.
Hey-a-day-day! It is spring now,
Lazy folks, awake!
See the pretty things we bring now
For the May Day’s sake!

Next year the Princess and I plan to enter. They have a children’s division for prizes which is awesome. Annapolis is a wonderful place. A city that feels like a small town.

Oh, I LOVE spring, and it looks like the May Day completely envelopes all that is spring. How beautiful it must be to walk by and see so many beautiful flowers. I hope Princess enjoyed the zoo-it’s one of my favorite places! I’m looking forward to seeing some photos of May Day this year ❤

Thank you. My goal is making this house into a home…even if it is a rental. Annapolis is a wonderful city and I am so glad the Navy made it part of our life adventure.

Annapolis is the first place I have seen May Day really celebrated. I was surprised to find baskets on my porch….a gift from a neighbor.
